Student Services Technology Specialist

To be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must be either a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required in Information Technology, Information Systems, Communications, Education Technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university with two (2) or more years of experience working in a Higher Education environment supporting student-facing or administrative systems. Demonstrated strong understanding of the higher education enrollment lifecycle including admissions, registration, financial aid, billing, and student success services. Proven ability to communicate complex technical and procedural information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrable experience with technical support coordination, documentation development, knowledge transfer, and cross-departmental collaboration. Strong written communication, organizational, and project coordination skills are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working directly with student support offices such as the CLC, Registrar, Cashiers, Financial Aid, and Information Technology. Familiarity with student information systems (SIS), CRM platforms, ticketing systems, knowledge bases, and workflow documentation tools. Experience supporting or coordinating enterprise IT services in a higher education environment. Understanding of IT service management (ITSM) principles and change management. Experience with project planning and interdepartmental communications.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Student Services Technology Specialist reports to the Chief Technology Officer or their designee and performs the following duties:
* Coordinates and unifies technical support efforts across IIT and functional student support areas including, but not limited to, the CLC, Registrar, Cashiers, Financial Aid, and other campus service units.
* Serves as a central liaison between IIT and student support offices to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely communication regarding systems, services, outages, enhancements, and procedural changes.
* Develops, maintains, and standardizes technical and functional documentation, knowledge base articles, process workflows, and support guides for student-facing and administrative systems.
* Manages knowledge transfer activities between IIT and functional departments to ensure continuity of operations, shared understanding of systems, and reduction of single points of failure.
* Supports project planning efforts related to student support systems, including requirements gathering, documentation, communication plans, and coordination between technical and functional stakeholders.
* Assists in the coordination of technical support escalations impacting student support services, ensuring issues are tracked, communicated, and resolved effectively.
* Collaborate with IIT staff and campus partners to improve service delivery models, backend system integration, and cross-functional operational efficiency.
* Provides clear, professional written communications including announcements, updates, procedures, and training materials related to student support technologies.
* Supports the development and maintenance of unified support workflows and service models across multiple functional areas.
* Participate in planning and continuous improvement initiatives related to student services technology and support operations.
* Maintains up-to-date knowledge of institutional systems, enrollment-related processes, and higher education technology trends.
* Performs related duties as assigned.

This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $60,000-$65,000.
