The Rutgers University Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (
EPS) invites applications for a highly motivated, creative postdoctoral associate position. The successful candidate will work on geochemistry-cosmochemistry research projects focused on measuring siderophile elements and their isotopic ratios in natural samples. Data will be collected using high precision thermal ionization mass spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry techniques. Professional development and mentoring programs will be integrated into the research program, including skill development in managing a clean laboratory and mass spectrometry laboratory and training users. The Postdoctoral Associate will join the research group of Dr. Katherine Bermingham at
EPS and collaborate with scientists based at several different universities in the
USA and abroad. This is a 1-year position, with a start date of September 1st, 2026. Renewal is possible, subject to performance and funding availability. Questions can be directed to

Qualifications

Candidates must have completed a doctoral (Ph.D) level program in Planetary Sciences or a related field. |

Experience in isotope cosmochemistry and/or geochemistry, and independent user experience in thermal ionization mass spectrometry/inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry; Candidates are expected to have an excellent academic record and be fluent in English;Ability to communicate complex information clearly in written format; Excellent research, organizational, and project management skills. |
