As a Senior Neurodiagnostic Biomedical Technician, you will serve as a critical link between clinical care, biomedical technology, and healthcare information systems, ensuring that the sophisticated technologies supporting Neurodiagnostic Services operate reliably and efficiently.
This unique hybrid role combines Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Technology, and Health IT expertise to support EEG, EMG, and other neurodiagnostic systems across the organization. You will work alongside clinicians, Clinical Engineering, Health IT, vendors, and operational leaders to maintain system performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and support innovative technologies that directly impact patient care and clinical outcomes. As part of a nationally recognized academic medical center, you'll have the opportunity to influence technology strategy, optimize clinical workflows, mentor team members, and help shape the future of neurodiagnostic services at UVA Health. Position SummaryThe Senior Neurodiagnostic Biomedical Technician serves as the technical expert for neurodiagnostic equipment, software applications, network connectivity, and clinical system integration supporting Neurodiagnostic Services. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, optimizing, and supporting networked neurodiagnostic technologies, including EEG, EMG, and associated clinical systems. The position partners closely with Neurodiagnostic Services, Clinical Engineering, Health Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and vendor representatives to ensure system reliability, operational continuity, regulatory compliance, and exceptional support for clinical teams. The Senior Neurodiagnostic Biomedical Technician plays a key role in technology planning, workflow optimization, equipment lifecycle management, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Associate's Degree or CBET, Microsoft, Medical Device Manufacturer Certification, etc. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Job requires sitting and standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/climbing ladders, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive) and walking (distance: 1 - 2 miles/day), Repetitive motion: computer keyboard and driving/traveling. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids, infectious disease and dust. The starting base rate for this role is $28.40 hourly.
