Job Description

To digitize and microfilm historical collections to provide greater access to the collections.

Key Responsibilities
* Convert historical documents and archival collections into high-quality digital and microfilm formats to increase public and research access.
* Carefully prepare and organize collections for conservation, binding, microfilming, and high-resolution digitization scanning.
* Executed strict quality control (QC) protocols on all digitized images and microfilm reels to guarantee adherence to archival clarity and formatting standards.
* Manage preparation, tracking, receiving, and storage of archival shipments.
* Troubleshoot scanning hardware and software as needed.
* Other duties as assigned.

Shift

20 hours per week, flexible between Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

* Ability to lift and carry 35 to 40-pound boxes is mandatory.
* Ability to climb ladders.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Preference will be given to candidates with previous library work experience in digital imaging projects.
* Experience using Microsoft Office including MS Access, MS Excel and MS Word; and Adobe products.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.19 - $17.71 per hour

Grade: GGS 006
