Inova Primary Care is looking for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the team. This role will be full time nights position, 11:00am - 11:00pm and 3:00pm - 3:00am swing shift.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician; Collaborates with the Registered Professional Nurse on the execution of patient plans.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to advocate for the clinical, emotional, ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients; Monitors and reports patients' progress towards expected outcomes and deviations to registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician.
  • Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation; Reports changes in patient condition to the registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician and appropriate healthcare team members in a timely manner.
  • Delegates appropriate patient care activities to clinical technicians or emergency medical technicians.
  • Evaluates and maintains the patient care environment to promote safety; Administers prescribed medications, therapies and treatments following practical nursing standards; Assists with patient education and discharge planning under the direction of the registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Vocational / Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing
  • License: Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Experience: 0 years of experience
  • Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience as an LPN or Medical Assistant in the ED or Urgent Care
