Job Summary The Homebuilder Portfolio Manager facilitates efficient operations, optimizes relationship management and portfolio growth, executes compliance and collections procedures, and serves as a client contact. Responsible for working on loan structure and terms, leading loan requests, and assisting with the overall management of the portfolio assigned. The Homebuilder Portfolio Manager will require direct client contact, providing financial analysis to maximize profitability, and is a valuable member of the support team for the client. Performs other projects and duties as assigned. Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Uses CRM along with other Bank tools to track and log activities, manage pipeline, and submit loan requests.
- Thoroughly collects customer and prospect financials which may include loan applications, tax returns, income statements, bank statements, and other relevant data.
- Reviews customer and prospect financials and other relevant data to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies; follows through to verify accurate information and resolve issues.
- Monitors reports to identify maturing and delinquent accounts.
- Administers renewal processes and performs collections procedures for assigned customer portfolio.
- Maintains records and obtains documentation in compliance with internal contracts, operational procedures, and risk management policies.
- Identifies business development and cross-sell opportunities and makes referrals.
- Maintain knowledge of bank products, programs, services and promotions, and how they can be offered to clients.
- Assist Underwriter(s) in loan approval processes; preparing documents for the Officer Loan Committee.
- Facilitates prospecting and marketing efforts by developing materials, scheduling and coordinating meetings and events.
- Serves as a liaison with clients, internal and external contacts to facilitate communication and assist with loan closing and account opening processes.
- May accompany Homebuilder Bankers on meetings and appointments to assist with relationship management and support account opening or loan closing processes.
- Assist with the preparation of detailed analysis of borrower's financials for new and renewal loans and prepare Loan Committee approvals and updates as needed.
- Assist with the monitoring of the loan portfolio through report preparation and maintenance.
- Assist Underwriter(s) in financial covenant testing for borrowers.
- Prepare Market Studies and Annual Reviews as needed.
- Manage all needed resources that will efficiently obtain the credit approval of loans requiring approvals above individual officer limits.
- Assist with the presentation of loan requests to the respective committees for approval.
- Participate in business development efforts with Account Officers which would include prospect call support and identifying potential additional product needs during underwriting.
- Exhibit a thorough understanding of the Ameris Bank credit culture and the terms and conditions under which loans should be presented and closed.
- Practices ethical sales behaviors in accordance with Ameris' core values of Integrity and Honesty; always acts in the best interest of the customer when offering additional products and services.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Intermediate Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Thorough knowledge of banking policies, procedures, products and services.
- Demonstrates commitment to quality customer service and ability to meet or exceed service goals.
- Able to analyze and record detailed information and produce accurate, high quality work products.
- Able to research, analyze, identify viable options, draw sound conclusions, present findings and make thoughtful recommendations considering overall risk and short-term and long-term impact.
- Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship building both internally and with Ameris clients and prospects.
- Highly developed communication skills including the ability to write clear and concise correspondence.
- Capability to independently and proactively manage various relationships and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Advanced proficiency in Moody's software and cash flow analyses preferred.
- Exceptional credit and analytical skills.
- Ability to advocate persuasively.
Industry and Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience analyzing and/or structuring loan transactions in a corporate lending environment, including developing cash flows and analyses.
- Banking compliance or risk management experience preferred.
Academic
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field required.
