Financial Analyst Associate

Job Summary:

Kalman & Company's Business Analytics team is seeking motivated, experienced professionals to join our growing team of cost analysts serving Federal and DoD clients. As part of our team, you'll provide our Government clients with strategic programming, planning, and advisory support services. This position will support the location of Fort Meade, and onsite work will be required. The salary range for this position is $75K/year-$85K/year. The salary offered will be dependent upon the selected applicant's level of experience and qualifications.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Under broad direction, provides expert support, analysis and research into especially complex problems, and processes relating to the subject matter
  • Serves as technical expert on high-level project teams providing technical direction, interpretation and alternatives
  • Thinks independently and demonstrates superior written and oral communications skills
  • Possesses a complete understanding and wide experience in the application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives. Works under only general direction.
  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
  • Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects.


Required Skills/Abilities:



  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of 2-5 years' experience performing financial analyses for defense, intelligence, or civil agency programs
  • Expertise in financial forecasting or budgeting
  • Proficiency in analyzing large datasets and preparing accurate, detailed financial reports and presentations for stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to perform variance analysis, identifying trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost savings or increased efficiency
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics, engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics or business)

Preferred Skills



  • Knowledge of Government and DoD financial regulations, ensuring compliance with federal standards in reporting and budgeting.
  • Possesses experience in one of the areas: e.g., Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Architecture, Implementation, Information Systems Integration, Software Development Methodologies, Security Engineering, Communications and Network Systems Management
