Overview The Marsh View Server provides friendly, prompt, and professional service to guests, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience. This position is responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and responding to guest needs while maintaining high standards of hospitality and customer service. Essential Functions: * Have full knowledge of all menus and beverage menus. * Have full knowledge of responsible alcohol service. * Have full knowledge and certification in safe food handling practices. * Proper setup and breakdown of area and service station. * Clean floors of dining room and bar area. * Complete restaurant set-up and breakdown/side-work. * Provide the highest quality guest interactions - Use guest names during interactions. * Keep working area neat and clean. * Take food and beverage orders from guests. * Enter in orders to the computer ensuring accuracy and timeliness. * Prepare beverages quickly and efficiently, following written and visual standards. * Follow service standards and best practices at all times. * Demonstrate excellent teamwork with other departments and associates. * Perform any other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager or supervisors. * Set up Patio Area / Umbrellas. Qualifications: * Minimum 1-year serving experience, high volume sports/live entertainment bar experience preferred. * Must have unexpired Food Handlers and TABC - or obtain upon hire. * Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experienceselling and presenting specialty mixed cocktails. * Previous cash handling experience preferred. * Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers. * Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS. * Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor. * Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department. * Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent customer service, service recovery, and problem-solving skills. * Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays. * Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. * Position requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms. * Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift Omni Hotels & Resorts is an equal opportunity/AA/Disability/Veteran employer.
