Job Summary

The Associate Director of Budgeting and Finance manages budgeting, financial analysis, preparation of financial reports and statements, and maintains reports. This role is responsible for financial management and accounting functions. Responsible for setting employee and/or group goals, deciding on the organizational structure to meet the goals, assessing employee and/or group performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Serve as a gatekeeper of the Institute system expenditures, ensuring the planning and purposeful execution of funds

Job Duty 2 -
Direct the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases utilized for budget development, forecasting, and reporting.

Job Duty 3 -
Manage general, restricted, auxiliary, and endowment budgets and consult with senior management to ensure there is no impact on academic and administrative operations.

Job Duty 4 -
Handle internal controls, policy, and procedures, and provide advice and training on budget management and project revenue.

Job Duty 5 -
Conduct reviews to ensure policies, procedures, and systems effectively mitigate financial risk, and inform senior leadership of any emerging risk issues.

Job Duty 6 -
Recommend changes to the approval process, roles, and authorizations to ensure appropriate access and oversee compliance with security standards.

Job Duty 7 -
Approve financial transactions and documents, reviewing them for compliance with policy and procedure as well as specific regulations and/or guidelines on restricted funds.

Job Duty 8 -
Provide support to budget committees, track the budget development scorecard, prepare analyses and reports, and coordinate the production of the proposed budget document and related presentation materials.

Job Duty 9 -
Oversee financial controls to ensure that financial and budgetary information complies with accounting/budgetary concepts and the Institute's policy and procedures.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent

Required Experience
Six or more years of relevant experience, including three or more years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree in related discipline or equivalent

Preferred Experience
Prefer 10 years of progressively responsible related experience. Experience with assessment, evaluation and quality improvement

o Understanding of venue / facility management
o Ability to supervise and motivate staff and others
o Strong record of leadership, motivation, and effectiveness in achieving results
o Demonstrated experience managing budgets and submitting assessment reports
o Broad knowledge of and experience with operations management, programming, activities, and events, preferably in a college or university setting, that focus on creating community
o Excellence in organizational leadership with the ability to develop and sustain teams, set, and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget in a complex university environment
o Strong written and verbal communication skills; adept at public speaking to audiences in a variety of academic, business, and social settings Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, student-centered, entrepreneur, adaptable, innovative, and self-directed

Salary range: $99,000.00 - $112,000.00
