Department Summary

The UCLA Joe C. Wen School of Nursing is a nationally recognized leader in nursing education, research, and clinical practice, preparing students to excel in patient care, research, education, and leadership. The School enrolls approximately 600 students, including 200 undergraduates and 400 graduate students, supported by 30+ tenured and research faculty and 40+ adjunct faculty and lecturers. This structure creates a uniquely supportive academic community within a major research institution-offering both personalized mentorship and access to cuttingedge resources. Academic offerings span bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and postmaster's certificate programs, all taught by nationally recognized faculty. Programs emphasize evidencebased practice, clinical excellence, and leadership development, with students gaining experience across diverse clinical settings through UCLA Health and community partnerships.

The Academic Programs Coordinator plays a critical role in the administration, evaluation, and accreditation of academic programs within the UCLA Joe C. Wen School of Nursing. This position requires deep familiarity with the School's unique curriculum, policies, systems (including Bruin Learn), and existing infrastructure - along with trusted relationships across academic leadership. The Academic Programs Coordinator will possess direct experience with UCLA School of Nursing programs and be capable of managing complex, cross-functional academic processes with direction. The Academic Programs Coordinator reports directly to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.


Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of administrative experience at a higher education institution, preferably within the School of Nursing or directly affiliated academic unit. (Required)
  • Demonstrated success managing UCLA academic systems, including Bruin Learn, CCLE, and campus academic policy databases. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated analyze skills to manage applicant, student, and alumni data for reporting purposes for program evaluation (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-departmentally with various units and entities, both internally (i.e. Student Services, Admissions and Recruitment, the Financial Aid Director, Faculty, Human Resources, Business Office.) and externally (with UCLA DGE, UCLA Registrar's Office, UCLA Financial Aid, UCLA Legal Office and Risk Management, UCLA Health, UCLA CENTER for Nursing Excellence, and various healthcare facilities including the VA, Cedars-Sinai, and Kaiser Permanente) to ensure optimal student support, program management, and program implementation. (Required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge drafting and executing Affiliation Agreements between UCLA and clinical sites for clinical placements. This requires the ability to work with legal and risk professionals and have an understanding of complex medical and legal language. (Required)
  • Ability to establish ongoing relationships with faculty, academic committee members, and program directors. (Required)
  • Demonstrated experience participating in accreditation processes and writing accreditation reports for BRN, CCNE, or similar regulatory bodies. (Required)
  • Prefer knowledge of School of Nursing's faculty workflows, curriculum planning cadence, and student accommodations framework. (Preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively. (Required)
  • Demonstrated familiarity with curriculum development, academic policy, and student support systems. (Required)
