Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Health & Benefits Specialist to join our Benefits team in Hanover, PA.

The Health & Benefits Specialist supports Utz Quality Foods' employee health and welfare programs through day-to-day administration of the company's health, dental, vision, disability, and prescription plans. This role serves as a key liaison among associates, healthcare providers, and third-party administrators, applying plan provisions, company policy, and regulatory guidelines to individual benefit situations. The position reviews eligibility and documentation, resolves routine and moderately complex issues, and exercises sound judgment in making benefit-related determinations within established guidelines, escalating matters that fall outside defined policy or authority. The role also supports departmental operations through benefit communications, documentation management, and process coordination.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Serve as a primary point of contact for associates with general questions about benefits, wellness programs, and available resources.
  • Administer enrollments and qualifying life events, respond to questions regarding eligibility, claims, and coverage, and review plan provisions and supporting documentation to determine late enrollment requests, qualifying life events, and dependent eligibility within established guidelines.
  • Oversee COBRA administration, including identifying qualifying events, issuing required notices, coordinating vendor activity, and reconciling payments.
  • Support wellness initiatives, campaigns, onsite events, and benefit communications.
  • Administer government forms and notices, including Qualified Medical Support Notices, Social Security and Medicare forms, and Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper records related to benefits, wellness, leave, and accommodation programs.
  • Support department workflows through trackers, logs, calendars, and shared resources.
  • Support administrative coordination for the Utz Fitness Center, including assisting with access requests, maintaining records and materials, and serving as a point of contact for general questions related to fitness center use and availability.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education



  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree or related coursework preferred.


Experience



  • 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, HR operations, or a related function.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish


Skills



  • Strong organizational, documentation, and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to interpret benefit plan provisions, apply guidelines to individual situations, and exercise sound judgment in resolving routine and moderately complex issues.
