JOB SUMMARY

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for the comprehensive management and strategic procurement of all rental equipment required for McKenney's facilities and construction projects. This role drives continuous improvement initiatives within the Purchasing department, ensuring efficiency, cost optimization, and vendor compliance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement

* Conducts quarterly strategic reviews with assigned vendor partners to develop, nurture, and maintain robust, high-performance business relationships.

* Executes monthly price compliance checks and audits to ensure all procured rental equipment adheres strictly to negotiated pricing agreements and contract terms.

* Creates, compiles, and manages yearly buying agreements and master service contracts for all primary rental partners.

* Manages the full lifecycle of rental contracts, including initiation, renewals, and timely terminations, ensuring seamless support for project teams and preventing unnecessary costs.

* Owns the resolution of complex invoice and purchase order discrepancies, collaborating with accounting and vendors to ensure swift reconciliation.

* Leads the collaboration with the legal department to review, negotiate, and update rental vendor terms and conditions, focusing on risk mitigation and favorable business terms.

* Manages the preparation and issuance of Subcontractor purchase orders and contracts using DocuSign, ensuring strict adherence to compliance requirements and project specifications.

* Directly manages the outsourcing of purchased fabrication orders, serving as the primary liaison between vendors, project teams, and logistics providers (trucking) to guarantee order quality and on-time delivery.

* Analyzes company spending data related to rental equipment to identify spending patterns, benchmark performance, and proactively drive cost savings initiatives and procurement strategy.

* Maintains, updates, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of the centralized rental equipment pricing database.

Process Improvement

* Manages the intake, tracking, and initial assessment of improvement suggestions impacting the department submitted through the MyGoodIdea platform.

* Drives the execution and leads the troubleshooting for assigned departmental process improvement projects, ensuring successful implementation and adoption.

* Develops, implements, and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for core purchasing department processes to standardize workflows and enhance efficiency.

General

* Performs all job duties in alignment with McKenney's core values and always operates with the highest standard of conduct and integrity.

* Performs additional duties, special projects, and assignments as requested by management, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness.

* Actively and proactively communicates any operational issues, vendor performance concerns, or potential business risks directly to the Purchasing Manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

* Bachelor's Degree preferred in Supply Chain

Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, or

Industrial Engineering.

* Solid proficiency in MS Office suite (Word,

PowerPoint, Excel), including advanced skills in

Excel for data analysis and reporting, and strong

general computer skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Advanced computer skills, including strong PC experience in Windows environments with an expert working knowledge of spreadsheets, e-mail, and web-based applications.
* Demonstrated ability to strategically identify methods of implementation to solve complex issues and proactively plan to satisfy long-term requirements.
* Highly detail-oriented with a proven ability to effectively manage multiple critical priorities and deadlines simultaneously under pressure.
* Able to accurately interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs).
* Exceptional and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, suitable for high-level vendor negotiations.
* Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills necessary for collaboration with internal project teams and external customers/vendors.
* Ability to access, analyze large datasets, and act decisively to resolve daily and ongoing issues, focusing on root cause analysis.
* Demonstrated ability to strategically initiate, lead, and manage process improvements from concept to completion.
* Must be self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to respond quickly and flexibly to changing customer and project demands with minimal oversight.
* Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and consistently meet challenging work goals.
* Ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail while completing multiple or repetitive tasks accurately and on time.
* Expert working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies, accounting principles, and business contract law.
* Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed, as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.
* Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for vendor negotiations and high-level internal interactions.
* Must have an exceptional work ethic and demonstrate the highest standard of conduct and integrity, while consistently upholding McKenney's company values.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

* Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.

* No or very limited exposure to physical risk during standard office hours.

* No or very limited physical effort required, typical of office work.

* Periodic visits to active jobsites may be required, involving exposure to conditions characteristic of such construction environments (e.g., noise, temperature variations, walking on uneven surfaces).

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS

* Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.

* Work will require construction job site visits. This will require the physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs and ladders, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, and the ability to negotiate work areas under construction.

* Light physical effort handling average-weight objects up to 25 pounds may be required occasionally.
