Requirements



  • Previous TIG welding experience
  • Proficiency in Tungsten Inert Gas welding techniques
  • Understanding of American Welding Society standards
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding specifications
  • Knowledge of stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals
  • Understanding of welding procedures, angles, gaps, and joint preparation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing precise welds
  • Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination
  • Physical stamina and ability to hold a welding torch steady for extended periods
  • Ability to weld in various positions, including flat and vertical positions
  • Commitment to following all safety and quality procedures


Job Duties



  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
  • Translate drawings and specifications into accurate welding and fabrication work
  • Set up and safely operate TIG welding machines, fixtures, and other shop equipment
  • Join metal components using a non-consumable tungsten electrode and shielding gas
  • Produce precise TIG welds in various positions
  • Clean and prepare metal surfaces before welding
  • Position parts and confirm proper angles, alignment, and gaps
  • Tack-weld components to hold them securely before final welding
  • Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and proper dimensions
  • Identify and correct defects or inconsistencies
  • Grind, file, and finish welded surfaces to remove rough areas
  • Maintain welding machines, tools, and related equipment
  • Keep the work area clean and organized
  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards
