About the Opportunity

You'll be joining a Marketo operations team supporting a large, complex instance that functions as a hybrid of proactive operations and reactive support, fielding tickets when something breaks. The role is weighted heavily toward data hygiene, troubleshooting, and instance archaeology, digging into an existing system, understanding what's been built over years, cleaning up what's outdated, and fixing what's broken, rather than email or template development. Compliance tracking (opt in status, consent, regional data handling) is a major, ongoing focus area. You'll work cross-functionally with internal data teams, sales, and account teams, and comfort navigating significant technical debt and limited documentation is essential. Email/template development and HTML are not requirements for this role, a versatile tool stack and strong troubleshooting instincts matter more than deep front-end skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all aspects of the Marketo platform's administration, including workspaces, partitions, roles, permissions, and overall instance health.
  • Design, build, and execute smart campaigns, encompassing both batch and trigger methodologies, with meticulous attention to flow steps, wait steps, and campaign processing priorities.
  • Develop and manage smart lists and segmentation strategies, enabling dynamic content delivery and segment-driven personalization.
  • Construct landing pages, forms, and programs, leveraging tokens and program templates for efficient deployment.
  • Oversee comprehensive data management, including imports, deduplication, list hygiene, field management, and CRM synchronization to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage and optimize platform integrations, utilizing REST and Bulk APIs, webhooks, and other third-party services.
  • Ensure robust deliverability, monitoring sending performance, bounces, and Sent-versus-Delivered behavior.
  • Conduct thorough reporting and analytics, coupled with disciplined QA and pre-send validation processes, to ensure campaign integrity and performance insights.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Marketo operations specialist.
  • Proven expertise in full Marketo platform administration, including instance configuration and health.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage smart campaigns, smart lists, and segmentation within Marketo.
  • Experience with landing page, form, and program creation, including tokens and program templates.
  • Strong background in data management, including imports, deduplication, list hygiene, and CRM synchronization.
  • Familiarity with integrations such as REST and Bulk APIs, webhooks, and other third-party service integrations.
  • Understanding of deliverability fundamentals, including sending, bounces, and Sent-versus-Delivered behavior.
  • Experience with reporting and analytics, and a commitment to disciplined QA and pre-send validation.
  • Comfort operating in a complex, high-volume, multi-program marketing automation environment.
