Join our Transplant Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital!



The Johns Hopkins Hospital Abdominal Transplant team is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary Transplant Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to care for complex patients throughout their transplant journey while collaborating with nationally recognized transplant surgeons, physicians, nurses, and specialists dedicated to advancing patient care.

Position Highlights:



  • Be part of a highly specialized transplant team caring for patients undergoing liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation
  • Provide meaningful continuity of care for patients throughout the pre- and post-transplant process
  • Collaborate closely with transplant surgeons, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Gain exposure to complex clinical cases while practicing in an environment that supports professional growth and lifelong learning
  • Work alongside a team committed to patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, and advancing transplant medicine



Schedule:
Rotating 10-hour Days shifts, Monday-Friday, including weekends and holidays as part of the team schedule.

Location: Baltimore, MD



Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate and manage the care of pre- and post-transplant patients throughout hospitalization
  • Partner with the transplant team to ensure comprehensive evaluation and preparation of patients for transplantation
  • Provide patient and family education related to transplant procedures, medications, and recovery
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, nursing teams, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical education, and research efforts supporting transplant services



Qualifications:



  • Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current Maryland NP or PA license and board certification
  • Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification or Physician Assistant certification.
  • Inpatient SICU/CVICU, Hepatology, Nephrology or Surgical Residency clinical experience strongly preferred; transplant experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment

Salary Range: Minimum 58.03/hour - Maximum 89.94/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
