Starting Salary Range $97,717 - $114,315 Annual (Management Salary Grade 21) |
| Salary/Compensation Statement: |
- The position's full salary range is $97,717 to $144,645. New employees cannot be placed higher than $114,315 (step 5 on the salary grade) due to internal equity. The application is used to determine the initial salary placement for selected candidates. All employment and education history will be considered.
- Our Management Benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental and vision insurance, long term disability as well as paid sick leave and vacation time.
- Lane Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Questions regarding your loan eligibility should be directed to your loan servicer or to the US Department of Education.

| Position Purpose: |
The Director of Academic and Tutoring Services (
ATS) is responsible for the visioning, oversight, and management of
ATS programs including Academic Coaching, Course Embedded Tutors, Instructional Testing, and other academic support efforts at the college. This position oversees a staff of approximately 55 - 90 contracted, part-time, and student employees in an operation that spans 10 learning spaces and the Instructional Testing Services center. Working within Academic Affairs, the Director of Academic and Tutoring Services and Instructional Testing will set the stage for equitable, high-quality, effective learning experiences that support student success at Lane. |
| Essential Functions: |
- Oversee day to day operations of on-campus and virtual Academic and Tutoring Services (ATS) and Instructional Testing Services (ITS) support spaces.
- Support the College's academic mission and provide strategic direction in planning and execution of tutoring and academic support services.
- Promote excellence in department personnel through recruitment, selection, and evaluation, as well as promotion of professional development.
- Provide strategic and tactical leadership for projects and development of additional resources and grants.
- Engage in effective professional development and/or professional activities and organizations to stay current with and anticipate changes in higher education.
- Engage in college-wide administration including the review and development of the College's mission, goals, and budgets.
- Organizes and leads stakeholder meetings to ensure that online student needs are met in Tutoring and Testing Services.
- Collaborate on maintenance and evolution of administrative software (e.g., Banner, EAB); ensure appropriate participation and implementation.
- Maintain compliance with established College policies and external accreditation (CRLA or similar professional body).
- Solicit feedback from key institutional stakeholders (students, faculty, administrators, academic advisors, etc.) on a regular basis and use to develop program improvement plans.
- Develop and maintain learning outcomes for center operations and programming.
- Compile and present an annual report of tutoring and academic support programming and services, including quantitative and qualitative information related to assessment of student learning and staff development.
- Oversee branding, promotion, and coordination of public relations for tutoring/academic support.
LEADERSHIP
- Engage in college-wide administration including the review and development of the College's mission, goals, and budgets; collaborate on maintenance and evolution of administrative software (Banner); ensure appropriate participation and implementation.
- Support the College's academic mission and provide strategic direction in planning and execution of technology support needs.
- Provide strategic and tactical leadership for projects.
- Maintain compliance with established College policies and external regulations.
- Provide the overall leadership and management for units and resources listed above in Areas of Responsibility.
- Develop systems, policies and practices to ensure an outstanding customer service experience for students, faculty, and staff utilizing the IT services.
- Promote excellence in Division personnel through recruitment, selection, evaluation, as well as acknowledgement and promotion of professional development.
- Ensure the implementation of the College's Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunities concerning policies, goals, and timetables in assigned areas. Ensure staff development on diversity, inclusive climate, and respectful learning and working environment issues.
- Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.

- Actively ensure faculty have the necessary support, tools, and resources to conduct assessments of courses, programs, and student achievements.

| Physical Demands/Working Environment: |
- This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that include office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors.
- This position requires that an employee is able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day.
- This position may work with individuals who may be in crisis, have difficulty tracking, or in need of mental health support.
- Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
