Summary of Role

The Director, Insider Risk & Investigations leads all investigative activity within the Financial Crimes function, including fraud investigations and insider risk investigations. Reporting to the SVP, Financial Crimes, this role provides enterprisewide governance over complex, sensitive investigations involving external fraud, employee misconduct, insider misuse, and collusion. The Director ensures consistent investigative standards, regulatory alignment, and effective partnership with Employee Experience, Legal, Information Security, and Corporate Security. As part of the Financial Crimes Team, this role is central to reducing the financial benefit and support of criminal activity in order to improve the quality of life for our communities.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee all fraud investigations, including insider risk cases.

  • Design and sustain the Insider Risk Program, including policies, standards, and escalation frameworks.

  • Establish investigative methodologies, documentation standards, and quality controls.

  • Oversee complex and high-risk investigations involving employee misconduct or collusion.

  • Determine SAR applicability and ensure timely, highquality regulatory reporting

  • *Engage with law enforcement and regulatory agencies as required.

  • Testifying in court proceedings regarding case work, as needed.

  • Partner closely with Fraud Operations leadership to ensure effective referrals and feedback loops.

  • Produce executive and board-level reporting on investigative outcomes and emerging risks.

  • Prepare for and lead investigative aspects of audits and regulatory exams.

  • Maintaining an understanding of the functions performed through the entire Financial Crimes team and providing assistance, as needed.

  • Coach, develop, and evaluate investigative staff.

  • Support strategic planning, resourcing, and budgeting for investigative functions.

Minimum Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of leadership experience in insider risk and investigations or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, sensitive investigations.

  • Strong understanding of NCUA, FFIEC, and BSA/AML expectations.

  • Proven ability to partner with stakeholders on employment-related matters.

  • Certifications such as CFE, CAMS, CFCS, or similar strongly preferred.

Compensation:$116,502-$151,453, plus a competitive benefits package
