Recreation Aide

Our Job Corps programs provide life-changing services that help young people succeed in school, obtain good jobs, excel in their chosen fields, and serve as contributing members of their communities. We accomplish this through an intense commitment to safety, quality service, excellence, and partnerships.

• Assistsin planningand promotingall activities so students can make choices as to how to use leisure timeforstudents.

• Promotes and engagesstudent participation in Community Service.

• Ensuressafetransport of studentsoccurstimely.

• Assistsin ensuringevents areavailable; ensures adequateequipment,supplies, or other resources for successful events.

• Assistsinmaintainingactive communication with other community and governmental sources including Fine Arts, Theater, Choral, Drama, Sports, Education and Training, Community Colleges, and volunteer organizations; contacts are reportedweekly.

• Ensures receipts/unused funds are returned to account fully for amount received.

• Accounts for monetary expenditures bysubmittingall necessary student excursion sheets,appropriatereceipts,and unused funds.

• Assistsin ensuringprograms stay within funding limits.

• Enforces all proceduresregardingproperty/equipment.

• Clearlycommunicatesandconsistentlymodelsappropriate CSSand employability skills.

• Maintainsaccountabilityofstaff,students,and property.

• Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.

• Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring itremainsfree from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.

• Attends all required staff training opportunities.

• High School Diploma or equivalent withone year of related experience working with youthrequired.

• A valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
