Job Description

JOB TITLE:Toolmaker: Levels I, II, III

LOCATION: Evansville Tool Shop

SUPERVISOR:Tooling Machine Supervisor

1.0PURPOSE:

1.1Construct, refurbish and repair mold components using CNC and manual machines.

1.2Journeyman Level I: Assist Area Supervisor in organizing and directing the activities of employee's primary area.

2.0RESPONSIBILITIES, including but not limitedto:

2.1Use caution and support systems to assure a safety event free facility.

2.2Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures.

2.3Observe, respond and report any instance of product, service, or quality systems non-conformity.

2.4Security diligence, including maintaining control of key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to Berry facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry equipment and information.

2.5Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in 4.0 and associated training.

3.0AUTHORITIES, including but not limitedto:

3.1Pause activities and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices.

3.2Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product, service or quality systems.

3.3Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

3.4Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.

4.0PRIMARY DUTIES, including but not limitedto:

4.1Operate assigned make of CNC or manual machine(s).

4.2Use precision measuring tools to accurately record dimensions of components.

4.3Assist superiors in anyday to dayactivity.

4.4Maintain cleanliness of shop.

4.5Work overtime as needed.

4.6Level III:

A.Develop better understanding of machine functions and the setup process

B.LearnMastercam, CNC and / orMazatrolprogramming

C.Learn how to hold tight tolerances in efficient time.

4.7Level II:

A. Hold tight tolerances in efficient time.

B.Program usingMastercam, CNC, and / orMazatrol

C.Perform general CNC operations from setup to finish dimension.

D.Read and understand blue prints.

E.Develop skills in quality investigation, CMM operation, Assembly, or other focus areas within the Tool Shop.

F.Use shop scheduleto accurately scheduleoperations within individual work cell.

G.Assist superiors withwork flowin shop and completion schedule.

4.8LevelI:

A.Train and assist Level III and II Journeymen to hold tight tolerances in efficient time.

B.Read blue prints and direct others on processes.

C.Use shop schedule to accurately schedule projects within area cells.

D.Assist superiors with decision making in machining processes, quality investigation, and / or CMM operation.

5.0QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION REQUIRED:

5.1 High school education / GED equivalent

5.2Abilityto occasionally climbon and off a forklift safely and without assistance.

5.3Abilityto safely operatea forklift in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety risk to others.Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.

5.4Able to accurately read blue prints.

5.5Ability to push/pull loads of approximately 75lbsat a minimum of 10 times per day/shift.

5.6Able to stand/walk for 7.5 hours of an 8-hour shift.

5.7Journeyman Level III:

A.Must be a Certified Journeyman Tool Maker or have equivalent experience.

B.Has experience in at least one of the following areas: Grinding, Mill, Lathe, Welding, Polish, EDM, Turn, Quality and / or Assembly, etc.

5.8Journeyman Level II:

A.Strong work history of consistent attendance and overtime flexibility.

B.Must be a Certified Journeyman Tool Maker or have equivalent experience.

C.Has significant experience in at least two of the following areas: Grinding, Mill, Lathe, Welding, Polish, EDM, Turn, Quality and / or Assembly, etc.

D.Ability to program usingMastercam, CNC, and / orMazatrol

E.Understands the injection or blow moldingprocess and how each component affects the total outcome.

5.9Journeyman Level I:

A.Must be Certified Journeyman Tool Maker.

B.Strong work history of consistent attendance and overtime flexibility.

C.Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees.

D.Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

E.Have advanced knowledge ofMastercam, CNC and / orMazatrolsoftware.

F.Fullyunderstand the injection or blow molding process and how each component we make affects the total outcome.

G.Has significant expertise in two or more of the following areas: Grinding, Mill, Lathe, Welding, Polish, EDM, Turn, Quality and / or Assembly, etc.

6.0PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

6.1Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

6.2Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

6.3Excellent problem solving skills.
