Doctrine Analyst, Mid

The Opportunity:

As a defense mission professional, you know that effective doctrine is more than just text on a page. It requires research, structured analysis, collaboration, and disciplined processes to deliver authoritative guidance to the joint force. We're looking for someone like you to help assess, develop, andmaintainmission-critical joint doctrine publications and tools used across the Joint Force's doctrine, education, terminology, and training communities.

As a Doctrine Analyst, you help develop, assess, andmaintainjoint doctrine that supports warfighter readiness and decision-making. Your role spans the full doctrine lifecycle,conducting analytical reviews, preparing briefings and readahead materials, supporting working groups, and collaborating with Joint Staff personnel, Combatant Commands, Services, and doctrine communities. You also contribute to terminology and allied doctrine research, assist with editing and coordination in tools like JointDoctrineDevelopmentTool, and help sustain key doctrine systems. Through your operational experience, communication skills, and analytical abilities, you ensure doctrineremainsaccurate, relevant, and aligned with joint force needs.

You will support the Joint Doctrine Program by conducting analytical reviews, coordinating working groups, preparing publication drafts, updating Universal Joint Task Listcontent, and sustaining key doctrine systems. Your work will directly contribute to doctrine products that shape readiness, operations, and education for the joint warfighter.

You Have:

• Experience with the fundamental principles of developing and assessing joint and multinational doctrine

• Experience preparing for and conducting working groups and conferences

• Knowledge of Joint Staff structure, mission, and relationships with Combatant Commands, Services, and Departmental Agencies

• Knowledge of Universal Joint Tasks (UJTs) and their relationship to Joint Doctrine

• Ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis

• TS/SCI clearance

• Associate degree and 3+ years of experience in military operations, or 5+ years of experience in military operations in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with Joint doctrine tools, including Joint Electronic Library and Joint Doctrine Development Tool

• Experience supporting doctrine conferences, working groups, or publication processes

• Experience with Joint Staff, Combatant Command, or component command

• Experience conducting doctrinal or operational analysis

• Experience with terminology or Universal Joint Task List processes

• Knowledge of Joint and Service Lessons Learned Systems to conduct research and develop reports

• Ability to conduct research using Joint and Service Lessons Learned Systems

• Possession of excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including usage of modern English grammar
