Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Supervisor II of the Government Affairs Division (Division), within the Department of Cannabis Control (Department), the Analyst II will serve as a key operational resource. The Analyst II will manage essential reporting and administrative functions; and will ensure timely, accurate communication with executive leadership, Agency partners, and external stakeholders. The Analyst II will exercise independence, initiative, and analytical judgment in completing assignments that directly support the Department's legislative strategy and Division operations.
The Analyst II will contribute to informed decision-making by ensuring leadership has timely, accurate information and by supporting the Division's operational effectiveness. The Analyst II will advance the Department's vision of a safe, sustainable, and equitable cannabis market by strengthening the Department's engagement with policymakers and supporting the development, monitoring, and communication of public policies that improve the state's cannabis framework.

Special Requirements

Conflict of Interest (COI) - This position is subject to COI Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1st, and within 30 days of leaving office.

    1. Describe your experience providing administrative support to managers or executives. Include examples of coordinating calendars and meetings, supporting recruitment, managing contracts, and other relevant administrative responsibilities.
    2. Describe a time you managed competing priorities while meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy. Explain how you prioritized work, communicated with stakeholders, and followed established procedures.

    3.Describe your experience researching, tracking, analyzing, or presenting legislative or policy information. Include examples of written products you prepared and your specific role in developing them.
