About the Department
The research project will be part of a team focused on understanding the genotypes and antigenicity of poultry viruses, as well as developing vectored vaccines using a reverse genetics system. Specifically, the project aims to genotype and determine the antigenicity of turkey coronaviruses ( TCV) and establish reverse genetics-based infectious clones based on Newcastle disease virus ( NDV) to design and develop vaccines against infectious coryza in layers. The work will also involve evaluating TCV transmission routes and determining in vivo vaccine protection and efficacy mechanisms, including animal inoculation, sample collection, data analysis, and interpretation of results.
