Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training in mechanical technology, manufacturing, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience using CAD software, including SolidWorks, is highly desirable.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience fabricating fixtures, jigs, prototypes, or custom manufacturing equipment.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, production, maintenance, or machine shop environment.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical equipment.
- Experience with 3D printing technologies and prototype development preferred.
- Familiarity with machine shop equipment, fabrication tools, and mechanical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Experience designing and modifying fixtures, tooling, and production support equipment.
- Knowledge of CAD design, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform hands-on mechanical work throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely operate mechanical tools, fabrication equipment, and maintenance tools.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing and production environment.
Job Duties
- Design, fabricate, modify, and maintain test fixtures, jigs, prototypes, and 3D-printed components to support manufacturing operations.
- Create and update designs using CAD software, including SolidWorks, to improve production processes and equipment performance.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electro-mechanical equipment used throughout production, testing, and repair operations.
- Support production area setup, equipment installation, modifications, and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Utilize machine shop equipment, hand tools, and fabrication equipment to build and repair custom tooling and fixtures.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and product quality.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, modifications, and project activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical solutions to manufacturing challenges.
