HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, the Website Coordinator manages the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies' website and digital communications channels, including web, email, and social media. Working within the school's communications strategy, this position develops, publishes, and optimizes written, visual, and multimedia content that supports enrollment, advancement, engagement, research visibility, and institutional reputation.

Serving as the school's primary webmaster, this position oversees website governance, digital publishing, content management, and user experience; coordinates with departmental website editors and university web, marketing, and information technology teams; supervises graduate administrative assistants supporting digital communications; and uses analytics to continuously improve digital engagement and performance.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Website Coordinator are the following:

Content Development & Editorial Management

  • Implements content strategies and editorial priorities established by the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Plans, writes, edits, and publishes website copy, program pages, student and alumni profiles, faculty features, event promotions, email campaigns, and other digital communications.
  • Captures and edits photography and video to support the school's marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Creates on-brand graphics and digital assets using established templates and visual identity standards.
  • Manages the editorial calendar and digital content workflow.
  • Serves as managing editor by assigning, reviewing, and approving content developed by graduate assistants and other contributors.
  • Supervises graduate administrative assistants supporting digital communications initiatives.
  • Translates complex academic, policy, and research topics into clear and engaging content for external audiences.

Website & Digital Channel Management

  • Serves as the Andrew Young School's primary webmaster and manages the school's website and digital channels.
  • Publishes and maintains content across websites, landing pages, digital signage, email marketing platforms, and social media.
  • Ensures content accuracy, accessibility, usability, SEO, brand consistency, and compliance with university standards.
  • Coordinates website governance, enhancements, and technical issues with departmental website editors and university web, information technology, and marketing teams.
  • Manages website architecture, navigation, content inventories, digital assets, and ongoing quality assurance.
  • Monitors website functionality and user experience and coordinates improvements and issue resolution.
  • Trains and supports departmental website contributors.
  • Oversees graduate administrative assistants supporting website maintenance and digital publishing.

Digital Marketing Analytics

  • Develops and distributes email communications using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp, or similar email marketing platforms.
  • Manages and schedules social media content using Hootsuite or similar social media management platforms.
  • Monitors website, email, and social media performance using Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and related reporting tools.
  • Executes SEO best practices to improve website visibility and audience engagement.
  • Recommends improvements based on audience insights, analytics, and emerging digital communications trends.
  • Tracks and reports key performance indicators established by the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications.

Qualifications - External

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, digital media, English, journalism, public relations, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Three years of professional experience in digital communications, marketing communications, website management, content strategy, content marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field.

* Experience managing content in WordPress or a comparable content management system.

* Experience writing, editing, and publishing content for digital audiences.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications

* Experience serving as a website administrator, webmaster, or primary web content manager.

* Experience managing digital communications across websites, email marketing platforms, and social media.

* Experience using Google Analytics, Looker Studio, or similar analytics platforms.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

* Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

* Experience creating digital content through writing, photography, videography, photo editing, and video editing.

* Experience creating on-brand graphics, presentations, and digital communications using Canva; familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud.

* Experience managing content in WordPress.

* Experience using Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Mailchimp, and Hootsuite.

* Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO), website accessibility, and user experience best practices.

* Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.

* Ability to supervise graduate administrative assistants and manage multiple concurrent projects.

* Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, departmental website editors, and university web, marketing, and information technology teams.
