Job Title: Phlebotomist II

Location: Overland Park, KS

Worksite: 7800 W 110th St, Ste 200, Overland Park, KS

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM-12:00 PM on a rotating basis (approximately 1 Saturday per month)

Duration- 3 months


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II for a float position supporting multiple Patient Service Centers (PSCs) throughout the Kansas and Missouri area near Overland Park, KS. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills and experience drawing blood from both pediatric and geriatric patients. This role requires someone who is adaptable, dependable, comfortable working at different locations, and able to work effectively in a team environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and efficient venipuncture and blood specimen collection.
  • Perform blood draws on patients across various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Float between local PSC locations in the Kansas and Missouri area as needed.
  • Follow proper patient identification and specimen labeling procedures.
  • Handle, process, and prepare specimens according to established procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate infection control and safety standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service and create a positive patient experience.
  • Work effectively as part of a team at different PSC locations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Ensure phlebotomy supplies and work areas are properly maintained.
  • Adapt to varying workflows and staffing needs across different locations.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous professional phlebotomy experience.
  • Strong blood collection and venipuncture skills.
  • Experience drawing blood from pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to specimen handling procedures.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work the required Monday-Friday schedule and rotating Saturday coverage.
  • Comfortable working as a float phlebotomist across multiple local PSC locations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience working in Patient Service Centers (PSCs).
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations.
  • Previous float or multi-site phlebotomy experience.
  • Reliable transportation due to the requirement to travel between PSC locations.


Work Environment

  • Onsite position.
  • Candidate will work at various local PSC locations throughout Kansas and Missouri, primarily around Overland Park.
  • Team-oriented work environment.
  • Requires working with both pediatric and geriatric patient populations.
  • Candidate should be comfortable adapting to different locations and workflows.


Schedule

Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Saturday: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM on a rotating basis, approximately 1 Saturday per month.


Compliance Requirements

  • Color vision screening required.
  • Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations are not required.
  • Negative THC screening is not required.


Interview Process

  • Initial Interview: Phone Screen
  • The Hiring Manager may conduct a phone screen first.
  • Candidates who successfully clear the phone screen may be invited for an onsite interview.
  • Target interview date: August 25, 2026.
