Job Summary

The School of Public Health and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (www.umass.edu/sphhs)is seeking applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track lecturer position (9-month appointment) in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences to teach in the area of Audiology. Opportunities exist for summer teaching, which would be compensated for in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. The initial appointment period is two years with the possibility of renewal.

Essential Functions

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing in-person teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels including participation in the AuD capstone process. Providing service to the department, university, community, and profession is also expected. This includes participation on committees, projects, and other activities that support the university, college, and departmental mission.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates must hold a minimum of a graduate degree in Audiology, Hearing Sciences or a related field from an accredited university or college, with a PhD or equivalent preferred.
Candidates must possess the ability to teach clinically relevant courses.
A Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) is preferred.
A demonstrated record of teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level is required.

Additional Details

This position involves exercising considerable initiative, leadership, judgment, responsibility and decision-making.
Salary commensurate with experience.

This position is subject to final budgetary and administrative approval.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion.

Salary Information

UMass Amherst expects to pay within an approximate range between $65,550 and $114,893 for this position.

Please note:
The low-end of the pay range in all faculty searches at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is the minimum salary for the rank included in the collective bargaining agreement between the University and the Massachusetts Society of Professors, UMass Amherst/MTA/NEA.
The high-end of the pay range reflects an increase above the median of salaries at this rank within the department for faculty who may have multiple years of faculty experience.
The specific pay for this position will be determined by the University based on consideration of all relevant factors when and if it decides to extend and offer of employment.
