The role - what you'll do Barr is seeking a geologist intern to join our Grand Rapids, Michigan, office for the summer of 2027. In this role, you will support the Assessment and Remediation business unit and undertake challenging and progressive work on projects related to the evaluation and remediation of contaminated sites. Assignments may include working as an individual or as part of a project team to assist with on-site investigations of contaminated soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and vapor; aquifer test performance and analysis; construction observation; development of site conceptual models; and preparation of drilling logs, geologic maps, cross-sections, and technical reports. Fieldwork opportunities for this position may include some out-of-town travel. The ideal candidate for this position is a clear and confident communicator who thrives in collaborative and independent work environments. They are adaptable, organized, proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable asking thoughtful questions. They bring a high level of attention to detail and take ownership of assigned tasks in dynamic field and office conditions. Compensation: anticipated range of $22.66-$28.90 hourly. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
