We are hiring an Senior Advisory Network Engineer to support one of our United States Navy customers. In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex, multi-tenant network environments while interfacing directly with mission stakeholders to translate operational needs into robust technical requirements. Responsibilities

    Lead architectural design, configuration, and operational deployment of enterprise routing, switching, and firewall infrastructures.

  • Architect and implement multi-tenant environments and segmentation strategies utilizing VRF-Lite, VLANs, and routing policy controls.

  • Design and enforce high-availability (HA) topologies, failover mechanisms, disaster recovery, and resilient backup procedures to meet stringent mission uptime requirements.

  • Directly engage with Navy customer stakeholders, technical leadership, and system owners to gather operational requirements, run technical interchange meetings, and lead network implementation strategies.

  • Install, upgrade, and integrate enterprise networking platforms, security appliances, and identity/policy management frameworks (e.g., Cisco ISE).

  • Provide security-hardened configuration templates (DISA STIG-compliant) for all network infrastructure components (Cisco switches, routers, next-generation firewalls).

  • Produce detailed architectural diagrams, engineering design packages, technical specifications, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/build guides for repeatable deployment.

  • Troubleshoot complex Layer 2/Layer 3 and security policy issues, performing root-cause analysis and system performance tuning.

  • Collaborate closely with ISSM and ISSO personnel to support network artifacts and documentation for Authority to Operate (ATO) packages.

  • Must be able to support up to 35% travel on average.



Education/Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Department of Defense Secret clearance.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 10+ years of relevant Network Engineering, Network Architecture, and/or Information Assurance experience.

  • Demonstrated experience with VRF-Lite configurations, macro/micro-segmentation, and multi-tenant enterprise network design.

  • Proven experience designing High Availability (HA) architectures, stateful failover, and redundancy protocols (e.g., HSRP/VRRP, dynamic routing, dual-homing).

  • Strong consultative and customer-facing skills with demonstrated experience leading requirements gathering and architectural design sessions.

  • Solid hands-on background in Cisco routing/switching, next-gen firewalls, and DISA STIG implementation.

  • Active DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification: CompTIA SecurityX, CCNA, CCNP Security, CCSP, GDSA or equivalent Cyber Workforce (CWF) training per DCWF 441.

Prefered:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an ABET-accredited or NCAE-designated institution.

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise/Security, or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP/CCDE).

  • Experience architecting secure network boundaries and test range or tactical communications environments for DoD/Navy programs.
