Department of Environmental and Occupational Health

Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health

University of California, Irvine

The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health, University of California, Irvine (UCI), invites applications for a tenure-track position in at the Assistant Professor level. We seek applicants engaged in innovative research on environmental or occupational health that aligns with the department's mission to improve public health through research, education, community engagement, and translating discoveries into practice. Faculty in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health have expertise in environmental toxicology, occupational health, injury and violence prevention, exposure science, community based participatory research, and environmental epidemiology. We welcome applications from candidates whose research is distinctive, methodologically focused, or complements departmental areas of focus.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach environmental health or toxicology courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as mentor students and fellows. Evidence of excellence in teaching, mentorship, and commitment to student success is required. Academic rank and salary will align with training, qualifications, and experience.

Candidate Qualifications

* A doctoral degree in environmental health or a related field is required.

* Evidence of a strong record of research accomplishments and publications commensurate with rank:

o Assistant Professor candidates should demonstrate substantial scholarship and potential for developing an independent, extramurally funded research program.

* Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and contribute to educational programs for undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral trainees.
