Inside the Role The Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) Sr. HTS Classification Specialist is a responsible member of a Harmonized Tariff Classification Team responsible for all classification-related compliance activities across all DTNA businesses in the United States and Canada including parts for: production of powertrain components, conventional and vocational trucks (Class 6, 7 and 8) for on and off highway applications (Freightliner and Western Star), specialized chassis' and buses, for school and special services (Thomas Built Bus) step in vans and chassis' for motor homes, coaches, e-vehicle trucks and buses, autonomous vehicles and Aftermarket service. The Specialist will collaborate with the HTS Classification Manager and team members to determine when a customs ruling request is appropriate and may be assigned the responsibility for providing the necessary research and product data in support of such ruling. This Specialist will collaborate with DTNA's related party companies globally to optimize the import of goods under the most appropriate import regulations. The HTS Classification Team supports the Import/Export Team, The Trade Programs Team, the C TPAT Manager and our International Trade Compliance Team in Mexico with a variety of Trade Compliance topics involving cross-border topics. The HTS Classification Team seeks to ensure the highest possible level of accuracy as required by U.S. and Canadian Customs regulations. All members of DTNA's International Trade Compliance Team are expected to take continuing education courses to maintain their trade compliance expertise and, for the HTS Classification Team, knowledge of our products, and are supported in doing so.Posting Information We provide a scheduled posting end date to assist our candidates with their application planning.
