Do you enjoy collaborating with field teams and project managers to support cultural resources projects through technical documentation, mapping, editing, and proposal preparation? S&ME is looking for a part-time Senior Consultant join our Environmental team in Columbia, South Carolina.

About The Role:

As a Senior Consultant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our cultural resource projects by assisting us in meeting client deadlines and helping us be more efficient. Your work will directly contribute to our continued success and growth by maintaining the timeliness and quality of deliverables we are known for.



  • Report Writing: Writing reports associated with the fieldwork that has been completed.
  • Report Review and Editing: Reviewing and providing feedback on reports written by the Archaeological Crew Chiefs.
  • Report Mapping: Generate the maps required for the technical reports.
  • Fieldwork Mapping: Generate maps to be used during fieldwork.



What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for someone who brings strong problemsolving skills, clear communication, and sound judgment to every project, even when working under tight deadlines or shifting conditions. A passion for cultural heritage, a commitment to highquality work, and the ability to lead with both confidence and humility will help you excel in this role.

About You:



  • You have a Master's degree in anthropology, archaeology, history, or a related field

    • Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA), a plus


  • You have a minimum of 8 years of archaeological experience
