Are you an experienced Traffic Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of transportation projects that improve safety, mobility, and efficiency across our communities. You'll lead and support traffic impact studies, traffic analyses, signal and safety improvement projects, and DOT and municipal work.

This role offers the opportunity to take on meaningful technical and project leadership responsibilities, collaborate with experienced transportation professionals, and continue growing your career while making an impact through innovative transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports, specifications, and designs for transportation projects, and keeping documentation organized.
  • Develop technical traffic reports and documents for DOT, municipalities and private developers.
  • Develop and conduct traffic impact studies, including trip generation, capacity analysis, and crash/safety analysis.
  • Develop traffic signal design and manage design of safety improvement projects.
  • Oversight of traffic counts, analyze traffic data, and identify patterns and trends to understand current traffic conditions and potential future needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and other engineers. This includes the use of traffic simulation software (SYNCHRO and SIDRA).
  • Design transportation plans and design transportation systems (roads, signals, etc.) to improve safety, efficiency, and mobility.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, and designs for transportation projects, and keeping documentation organized.
  • Stay informed about advances in transportation engineering and technology, as well as relevant regulations and standards.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • Typically requires 6+ years of experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure (or the ability to obtain within six months)
  • Proficiency in traffic simulation software, including SYCHRO and SIDRA
  • Knowledge of CAD software including MicroStation/Connect, InRoads/OpenRoads; knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS
  • Experience with DOT project design and plan preparation requirements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and deliver projects on time and within budget

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
