Position Summary

Join our team as an HR Analyst 2 and play an important role in supporting the department's day-to-day human resources operations. In this position, you will coordinate a variety of personnel, payroll, timekeeping, and funding transactions for academic, student, postdoctoral, staff, and affiliate populations. You will work closely with faculty, staff, students, and campus partners to ensure HR transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant with University policies and procedures. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented and service-focused HR professional who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with others, and contributing to efficient and effective HR operations.


Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of human resources, academic personnel, and payroll administration principles and practices (Required)
  • Skill in accurately reviewing and processing personnel and payroll transactions (Required)
  • Working knowledge of payroll funding and financial transaction processes (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to review detailed personnel, payroll, timekeeping, and funding information for accuracy and completeness (Required)
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, guidelines, and collective bargaining agreement provisions (Required)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills (Required)
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy (Required)
  • Skill in maintaining accurate, organized, and confidential personnel and administrative records (Preferred)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (Required)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and customer-service skills (Required)
  • Ability to use computerized administrative systems, databases, spreadsheets, and standard office software (Required)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills (Required)

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, or a related field (Required) Or
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in human resources, payroll, academic personnel, or administrative operations. (Required)

  • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
  • Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
