Position Summary The College of Arts & Science is seeking a dynamic Director for Community Engagement. The Director provides strategic leadership for the design, integration, and execution of community engagement and activation across the College of Arts & Science (CAS). Responsible for building a coherent, high-impact engagement ecosystem that connects students, alumni, parents, faculty, and external partners to the intellectual and social life of the College. Working at the intersection of student success, alumni engagement, and institutional strategy, the Director develops and implements scalable engagement pathways that foster belonging, deepen connection, and strengthen long-term affiliation with CAS. This includes designing experiences and programs that support key transition moments (entry, first year, study abroad, re-entry, graduation), enhance student development, and contribute to retention, wellbeing, and lifelong engagement. Oversees a portfolio that includes major academic ceremonies, signature events, co-curricular engagement initiatives, and stakeholder programming, ensuring that all activities align with CAS strategic priorities and advance a unified vision of community and connection. In close partnership with Development, Communications, Admissions, Alumni Relations, and Student Success, the Director ensures that engagement efforts are integrated, data-informed, and designed for impact. Manages a team responsible for execution while setting the strategic direction, standards, and evaluation framework for engagement across the College. Qualifications Required Education: Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
