Materials Test Technician This position will handle various Analytical Services and Failure Analysis projects for multiple business divisions and business units which may be global. In cases of performing failure analysis, critical thinking, creative and in-depth analysis is required to arrive at root cause(s) to share with internal customers. What You Will Do In Your Role * Analyze complex technical data, which will use test procedures as guides, but has freedom to determine the best preparation method. * Conduct advanced analysis on components, materials and electronic assemblies using SEM/EDS, FTIR, XRF, Profilometry, Dual Beam (FIB) and Optical Microscopy. * Author analytical test reports. Position Qualifications Requirements: * Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Sciences * Experience in a laboratory environment providing analytical services and conducting failure analysis activities using the tools above on electronic assemblies or materials * Demonstrated experience in the operation and interpretation of results in SEM-EDS analysis and optical microscopy * Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely and author engineering reports * Possess critical thinking and analytical ability to develop conclusions from complex data including multiple interactions Preferred: * Bachelor's degree in Materials or Metallurgy * 5+ years' experience in a laboratory environment providing analytical services and conducting failure analysis activities using tools above on electronic assemblies or materials * Experience with surface analysis techniques including FTIR, FIB-SEM, Profilometry, and XRF * Demonstrated experience in creating metallographic cross sections * Copper alloy material analysis and metallurgy experience * Plating surface analysis and general process knowledge * Electronic assembly failure analysis experience For this role, we anticipate paying $30.00-$35.00 per hour. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
