Job Description

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, level two Machinists operate CNC machine cells as well as standalone machines, which requires basic machine setup, including preparing and setting up fixtures, cutting tools, and loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets. Level two Machinist competencies include the ability to use more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques such as height gauges, air gauges, and bench inspection.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operates CNC machine equipment to produce to rate and meet quality standards.
  • Sets-up machines by loading fixtures, tools, and programs and adjusting offsets.
  • Understands CNC programs and stops and starts programs correctly.
  • Loads material into machine and unloads parts after the operation.
  • Performs machine upkeep, including removing chips from tools and equipment, wiping down the surface of the machine, and maintaining correct coolant, oil, and lube levels.
  • Uses tools such as wrenches, feeler gauges, calipers, micrometers, edge finders, height gauges, contracers, optical comparators, and bore gauges.
  • Monitors machine and cutting conditions and reports unusual occurrences to the shift supervisor or shift lead.
  • May deburr and edge-break parts as needed.
  • May operate multiple machines as needed and is proficient in SPC.
  • Follows all safety policies (PPE, machine operation, LOTO), quality standards, and cleaning/organization standards (6S).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience of related CNC lathe experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Good understanding of shop math.
  • General understanding of computer functions, including ERP systems.
  • Ability to read and write in English, including reading blueprints and work instructions.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $27.25 to $40.75 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
