Molex is seeking a highly motivated Principal Design Quality Engineer (DQE) to ensure the quality, reliability, and manufacturability of next-generation optical transceivers throughout the product lifecycle. This role partners with engineering, operations, and suppliers to ensure robust product designs, effective risk management, and industry-leading field performance. The ideal candidate will have experience with high-speed optical modules, strong knowledge of design assurance methodologies, and a passion for driving robust product development processes that result in world-class reliability and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do

  • Drive quality planning activities, establishment of best practices and quality assurance activities throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept through production release.
  • Drive FMEA, risk assessments, and Design for Reliability (DFR) practices to identify and mitigate product risks early.
  • Provide technical leadership for reliability, failure analysis, and corrective action activities.
  • Review and approve design changes, component qualifications, and manufacturing readiness decisions.
  • Influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership on quality, reliability, and risk-based decision making.
  • Partner with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure quality requirements are effectively implemented and sustained.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in quality, reliability, product, or design engineering.
  • Strong understanding of optical components and modules, opto-electronic and electronic devices, and transceiver manufacturing processes.
  • Expert knowledge of:
    • FMEA and risk management
    • Reliability engineering and qualification testing
    • Root cause analysis and corrective actions
    • Statistical methods and data-driven decision making
    • Design verification and validation processes

For this role, we anticipate paying $150,000 - $220,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
