The Urodynamics and Procedural Urology team is dedicated to finding answers and developing solutions to many different bladder function problems in children, from the common to the rare and complex. Our specially trained experts have many years of experience working closely with families, referring physicians, and other medical professionals, both at Boston Children's and in the local, regional, national, and international communities.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for pediatric patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic urologic procedures.
  • Coordinate and perform urodynamic studies, assist with in-clinic cystoscopies, support intravesical Botox administration and other minor procedures.
  • Providing family and patient education.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and collect relevant clinical information before procedures.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during in-office cystoscopies, bladder Botox procedures, and other minor in-office procedures.
  • Prepare patients and families for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by providing education, emotional support, and procedural expectations.
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures and during recovery, recognizing and responding appropriately to changes in patient condition.
  • Ensuring safe, high-quality care throughout the patient experience.
  • Coordinate follow-up care, medication authorizations, and procedural scheduling.
  • Serve as a resource for patients and families regarding treatment plans, bladder management strategies, and post-procedure instructions.
  • Respond to patient calls, triage clinical concerns, and provide appropriate recommendations.


Minimum qualifications:
Education:
BSN required.
Experience:
3+ years RN experience preferred, 1 year required.
Operating Room, procedural, sedation, or perioperative nursing experience is strongly preferred.
Highly skilled and adaptable nurse with strong procedural experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
License/certification:
MA RN License required.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
