Job Description

Career Services Coordinator

The Office of Engineering Career Services invites applications for a self-motivated and student-focused professional for the position of Career Services Coordinator. The Office of Engineering Career Services works collaboratively to provide professional development and employment opportunities for students and represents the College of Engineering to employers (including alumni) seeking to recruit Engineering students.
Under the supervision of the Associate Dean and Director of Recruitment and Retention, the Career Services Coordinator will lead co-curricular programs impacting Engineering students' professional development, including but not limited to professional development programming, internship, co-op, and full-time employment advising.

Duties:

* Designs and facilitates co-curricular professional development programming.
* Supports industry partnerships which overlap with CoENGR industrial advisory boards, alumni engagement, and capstone experiences.
* Advises engineering students in professional development through employer/student engagement opportunities, and professional education workshops.
* Identifies professional development opportunities for student organizations, connecting industry partners with organizations whose mission and work are aligned.
* Collaborates with faculty on improving professional skills gaps for students and identifying industry partners relevant to departments' goals including capstone courses, IABs, outcomes, site visits targeting new faculty members, and other opportunities.
* Tracks students' skill development in NACE learning outcomes.
* Maintains knowledge of the industry of engineering, particularly information related to internship, co-op, and full-time positions and competitive regional companies employing Mizzou Engineering students.
* Coordinates Handshake student-facing functions (employer engagement event promotion and career fair registration).
* Collaborates with campus and UM system units such as Extension, MU Career Services Council, and other relevant working groups.
* Collaborates with other team members on critical projects as needed.
* Leads Outcomes survey data collection, the first destination employment survey.
* Other duties as assigned.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with occasional events required outside of normal hours. Regular onsite work is required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Humanities, Business, Education, Engineering or related field.
* 2 years of experience working in Career Services or related field in higher education or industry.
* Demonstrated interest in and experience working in STEM education and career paths.
* Skilled in written and verbal communication.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $53,976 - $65,000 per year

Grade: GGS 010
