Human Resources Generalist

Washington County, Wisconsin | West Bend, WI

Full-Time | Onsite | Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Salary: $69,000 - $78,000

We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support approximately 600 employees across diverse County departments. This role covers benefits administration, recruitment, employee relations, training, engagement, performance management, and HR compliance.

A strong foundation in employee benefits is essential. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day benefits administration, coordinate wellness initiatives, support open enrollment, and partner with vendors to ensure a positive employee experience.



What You'll Do

  • Administer employee benefit programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, HRIS updates, vendor coordination, billing reconciliation, COBRA administration, and open enrollment
  • Coordinate employee wellness initiatives and the annual Wellness Fair
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard employees
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation and support engagement initiatives
  • Advise supervisors on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and corrective actions
  • Assist with workplace investigations and employment law compliance
  • Support employee and leadership training programs
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR programs, policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Maintain accurate HR records and assist with compliance reporting



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience administering employee benefits and supporting multiple HR functions
  • Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and HRIS systems
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problemsolving skills
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license
