Description

The MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Department of Surgery is seeking a collaborative and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive surgical care to patients throughout their perioperative journey.

The APP will have a broad and dynamic role that includes inpatient management, perioperative care, and operative participation as a first assist in the operating room. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, coordinating care across disciplines, managing post-operative patients, facilitating discharges, and providing patient and family education. The APP will work closely with surgeons, residents, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

This full-time position includes rotating weekend coverage and no call responsibilities, promoting a healthy work-life balance. The APP will primarily support the Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery service, with opportunities to provide cross-coverage for the Colorectal Surgery service based on operational needs.

Qualified candidates must be certified as a Physician Associate (PA-C) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP/AGACNP) and eligible for licensure in the state of Maine. Previous surgical experience and first assist experience are preferred but not required.

The pay range for this position is $128,699 to $ 166,551 annually, based on the candidate's level of experience. In addition to base pay, MaineHealth offerscomprehensivebenefits, recognition programs and career growth opportunities.
