Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Transportation Operations Coordinator / Dispatch Clerk to support daily transportation and logistics operations. This role is responsible for performing administrative and clerical functions within the transportation department, ensuring accurate documentation, supporting drivers, monitoring delivery operations, and maintaining compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced transportation, logistics, or distribution environment and possess strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor driver progress and route execution using Omnitracs and other tracking systems.
- Gather, organize, and process driver paperwork, including logs, manifests, vehicle inspections, and delivery documentation.
- Conduct driver debriefs and communicate operational updates.
- Answer incoming phone calls, route calls, and take messages.
- Provide administrative support to transportation and operations teams.
- Research operational challenges and assist with issue resolution.
- Act as a liaison between office personnel, drivers, and warehouse operations.
- Process inbound freight paperwork and serve as the primary contact for inbound freight issues.
- Run daily operational reports, including vehicle tracking and performance observations.
- Maintain DOT compliance documentation and records.
- Order office and operational supplies as needed.
- Support supervisors and management with additional tasks and projects.
Qualifications
- Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience
- Minimum 2 years of customer service, administrative, transportation, logistics, or distribution experience preferred.
- Experience in a high-volume route delivery or transportation operation preferred.
- Experience with Omnitracs or similar transportation management systems preferred.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

- Experience with scheduling, transportation reporting, and driver support preferred.
Licenses
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for administrative tasks.
- May be required to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to work in both office and warehouse environments.
- Ability to maintain close and distance vision for operational and computer-related tasks.
