JOB SUMMARY
The Engineering Technician supports ICC's manufacturing operations across three operational areas -- Value-Add Assembly (VAD), the warehouse, and overall facility -- reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer. The role delivers hands-on technical support for production equipment, tooling, fixtures, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact throughput, quality, and operational efficiency.
Working alongside the Manufacturing Engineer and Quality Engineer, this technician bridges the production floor and the warehouse by maintaining equipment uptime, sustaining 5S standards, and advancing lean initiatives across all operational areas. The role reflects ICC's employee-centric, team-based approach to problem solving and commitment to exceeding the expectations of both internal and external customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned.
Equipment & Tooling
* Support daily VAD production by troubleshooting equipment issues, performing root cause analysis, and coordinating corrective actions with the Manufacturing Engineer.
* Partner with the Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate, test, validate, and implement new tooling, fixtures, and semi-automated assembly equipment.
* Execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs per established schedules; maintain associated spare parts inventory.
* Utilize optical comparator and other measurement tools to verify fixture, tooling, and component dimensions.
* Maintain calibration records for gauges, torque tools, and measurement equipment in support of QMS requirements.
Quality & Documentation
* Develop and maintain work procedure instructions (WPIs) and setup documentation in support of VAD production routers.
* Support the Quality Engineer in documenting out-of-spec conditions and providing evidence for supplier-related root cause investigations.
* Comply with all applicable elements of the ICC Quality Management System, including AS9100D requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Lean
* Lead 5S audits and sustainment activities across VAD, the warehouse, and facility areas; maintain visual management boards and zone ownership boards.
* Support kaizen events and CI projects initiated by the Manufacturing Engineer or CI Leader.
* Conduct time studies and collect process data (cycle time, yield, downtime) to support improvement initiatives.
* Identify and document waste in warehouse and production workflows; participate in standard work development.
* Participate in tiered huddle boards and escalate improvement opportunities through the CI tracking system.
Compliance & Safety
* Adhere to all ICC policies, ITAR requirements, FAR/DFARS compliance obligations, and applicable quality system elements.
* Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas across all assigned operational zones in compliance with 5S standards.
