Clinical Research Coordinator Be You. The BioRepository & Precision Pathology Center (BRPC) within the Department of Pathology at Duke University is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to join our consenting team. BRPC is a core resource at Duke that provides tissue samples, consenting services, histology support, and other specialized services to principal investigators both within and outside of Duke. In this role, you will join the consenting team and be responsible for obtaining patient consent through both in-person and electronic consent processes, fulfilling clinical trial requests, supporting regulatory activities, and assisting investigators and study coordinators in accessing pathology specimens for research. In this critical role, you will contribute to multiple research studies by obtaining consent under the biorepository protocol, supporting the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensuring clinical trial activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements and College of American Pathologists (CAP) guidelines. You will also support BRPC's participation in the Cooperative Human Tissue Network (CHTN), a biospecimen resource funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). On a daily basis, you will: Obtain informed consent from patients using both paper consent forms and REDCap e-consent platforms. Request and coordinate tissue samples through Duke Clinical Laboratories to fulfill clinical trial and research requests. Register research participants in required Duke systems. Work closely with leadership to ensure compliance with Duke, state, and federal regulations. Review IRB-approved protocols to ensure regulatory and operational compliance. Assist investigators and research teams with specimen-related research activities. Participate in cross-training opportunities that may include biospecimen collection and patient consenting based on BRPC operational needs. Minimum Requirements: Completion of an Associate's degree Work requires a minimum of two years of relevant research experience. A Bachelor's degree may substitute for 2 years required experience. Highly collaborative approach and ability to set clear goals and communicate proactively and clearly with key stakeholders and staff Demonstrated commitment to completing work efficiently and by designated deadlines Strong organizational and communication skills ETHICS - You may assist the Research Program Leader in identifying adverse events, as well as protocol deviations and in determining whether or not they are reportable. DATA - You will use patient health data from the Duke electronic medical record to identify cohorts, extract relevant medical information, and access patient samples. Science: You may get the opportunity to participate in conferences on behalf of the BRPC, and this would involve you generating abstracts based on literature searches and reviews. Study and Site Management: You will communicate with members of the BRPC to assure that samples are compliant with quality control standards for the Cooperative Human Tissue Network (CHTN) grant and that grant milestones are being met. Leadership: You will work with the research histology team lead and research program leader to train new team members in the role and contribute to training plans. Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $61,026.00 to USD $101,959.00.
