Position Title: Finishing Technician / Rewind
Wage: $18.00/hour Shift: 2nd Hours: 2:20pm - 12:20am Join our dynamic team in Appleton, WI as a Finishing Technician/Rewind on the 2nd shift, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for operating rewind machinery, verifying order specifications, and supporting packaging and shipping functions. Finishing Technician / Rewind Responsibilities: - Read and thoroughly understand factory orders before starting each shift to ensure accurate production - Set up, operate, and maintain multiple rewind machines efficiently at maximum speed while adhering to quality standards - Collaborate closely with packers and press operators to coordinate production workflows, including box assembly, taping, and packing rolls - Conduct detailed inspections for label imperfections and ensure compliance with customer-specific procedures, including manufacturing quality plans - Manage splice procedures, change and set up crush and shear blades, and troubleshoot machine operations as needed - Verify and record all order details, take required samples, and accurately complete all related paperwork, such as daily worksheets and table sheets - Place rolls into boxes along with spacers, inserts, and other items, ensuring proper handling without disrupting machine performance - Assist with weekly machine maintenance, general cleanup, and safety checks of the work area - Monitor and adjust core sizes, unwind setups, and flag colors to meet customer specifications - Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job status, production needs, and potential issues to prevent backorders and minimize downtime - Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and traceability protocols to maintain a compliant and secure work environment - Support training initiatives and seek additional knowledge to increase output and efficiency - Perform auxiliary tasks such as assisting with shipping, expediting, or other department needs as assigned Requirements for Finishing Technician / Rewind: - Proven experience operating rewind or finishing machinery preferred - Ability to read and interpret factory orders and technical specifications - Strong attention to detail and quality control skills - Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform basic machine setup and blade changes - Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude - Ability to manage time effectively and meet production targets - Willingness to learn and follow procedures, including customer-specific quality plans - Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting and moving rolls and boxes - Familiarity with safety standards and maintenance procedures QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
