Aquent is partnering with a major Health System client to find a Senior Accountant for a 1-year temporary assignment. Drive critical financial operations within a fast-paced health system, leveraging your expertise in fixed assets, lease accounting, and modern automation tools to streamline financial reporting and close processes.

To be considered for this role, you must:



  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Not require sponsorship of any kind for the duration of the assignment
  • Be able to work on a W-2 basis (C2C or 1099 is not permitted for this position)


Key Responsibilities



  • Oversee and maintain fixed asset and lease accounting schedules to ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational standards.
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual period close processes, including posting journal entries, allocations, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare complex general ledger account reconciliations, cost reports, bank reconciliations, and regulatory financial reports.
  • Leverage Workday and Microsoft ecosystem automation tools to optimize workflows, reduce manual processing, and increase data accuracy.
  • Analyze complex financial data and communicate findings, limits, and guidance to non-finance stakeholders across the health system.
  • Prepare federal, state, and other regulatory reports ensuring full compliance with established guidelines and reporting mandates.


Requirements & Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience in fixed asset accounting and lease accounting within a enterprise or health system setting.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Workday financial modules.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Microsoft ecosystem automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Excel advanced functions) to improve accounting workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax, and local, state, and federal regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for non-finance users.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Prior experience working within a healthcare or health system environment.


The target hiring compensation range for this role is $69.95-$77.72/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
