Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:



  • Design and implement tailored workflows, issue types, custom fields, permission schemes, and screen layouts across Jira Software, JSM, and Confluence Cloud and Data Center.
  • Build and maintain JSM workflows, including incident, request, change, and problem management processes, asset management (Assets/Insight), and service catalogs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver application features and enhancements on time, ensuring integration with existing systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Develop custom apps, scripts, and automations using Script runner or REST APIs to extend native Atlassian capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring smooth operations and quick resolution of problems.
  • Organize and optimize Confluence spaces, establish standardized templates, permissions, and seamless integration with JSM portal search.
  • Manage user access, security governance, and system performance in Atlassian applications.
  • Work independently while collaborating with other team members, managing your workload efficiently and delivering quality solutions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME), documenting system configurations, best practices, and conducting user training across departments.



Requirements (Years of experience, Education, Certifications):



  • College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5+ years hands-on experience administering and developing on Atlassian Cloud/Data Center products (Jira, JSM, Confluence)
  • At least five (5) years' experience in Information Technology
  • Advanced knowledge of Jira Automation, Script Runner, or similar workflow automation tooling.
  • Deep understanding of JSM customer portals, request types, SLAs, and Assets (Insight).
  • Familiarity with source control (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab)
  • Strong understanding of Postgres SQL and AWS
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • US residency of 3+ years



Nice to Have (skills that are not required, but nice to have):



  • Prior experience migrating from Jira Data Center/Server to Atlassian Cloud.



This is a full-time position paying a base salary of $110,000 - 120,000, full benefits, and has possible bonus potential based on merit and performance. To be considered for this position, please apply online with a resume.
