ABOUT THE ROLE

The Shipping Assistant supports daily logistics operations by coordinating loads between architectural and structural plants and ensuring materials are prepared for shipment. This role will be both in office and "boots on the ground", building and managing load tickets, tracking deliveries, and communicating with internal teams and external partners to keep shipping operations on schedule. The position plays a key role in maintaining accurate documentation, efficient coordination, and timely delivery of precast materials to job sites.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Coordinate upcoming loads with plant crews for shipping preparation
  • Order and manage rental trailers for loading operations
  • Maintain trailer records including inspections, registration, and maintenance
  • Track physical location of trailers as they enter/exit property
  • Communicate with hauling companies to schedule and confirm deliveries
  • Create, print, and process shipping tickets using Concrete Vision
  • Enter completed load and delivery data into tracking systems
  • Coordinate delivery timing and requirements with erection and project teams
  • Track daily load progress to ensure on-time shipment to job sites
  • Assist with coordination of materials, hardware, and inter-plant transfers
  • Support maintenance coordination for trailers and transport equipment


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment. They can coordinate effectively across plants, drivers, and field teams while maintaining accurate documentation. This individual is proactive, reliable, and committed to ensuring shipments are processed correctly and delivered on schedule.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE



  • High school education preferred (not required)
  • DOT Compliance knowledge preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and shop tickets preferred
  • Basic organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to follow detailed and complex instructions
  • Team-oriented with strong coordination skills


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility and/or outside for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
