Essential Job Duties
The Institute for Advanced Analytics invites applications for an open-rank Assistant, Associate, or full Teaching Professor. This 12-month non-tenure-track faculty position will play a central role in developing, delivering, and continuously improving the Institute's portfolio of online professional certificate programs and graduate instruction.
As a faculty member, you will shape how working professionals and graduate students learn and apply analytics in a rapidly evolving field. You will bring your expertise in analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science into the classroom while creating practical, technology-enabled learning experiences that connect academic knowledge to real-world challenges. Through teaching, mentoring, curriculum innovation, and collaboration with faculty and industry partners, you will help prepare learners to apply emerging tools and insights in their professional work.
Key Responsibilities fall within the following functional areas:
Online Curriculum Development and Teaching:

  • Lead the design, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of online certificate and graduate courses, creating engaging content and assessments that support meaningful learning outcomes.
  • Create engaging asynchronous and synchronous learning experiences using modern educational technologies and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Continuously strengthen curriculum by incorporating advances in analytics and emerging technologies and using student feedback and assessment data to improve learning experiences.
  • Partner with faculty, instructional designers, educational technology professionals, and media specialists to deliver high-quality online learning experiences.
  • Deliver graduate and professional education courses in analytics and related disciplines.



Student Engagement and Applied Learning:

  • Mentor graduate students through industry-sponsored projects, connecting them with corporate partners and guiding teams from planning through final deliverables.
  • Provide academic and professional advising through regular student engagement and office hours.
  • Supervise graduate teaching assistants as assigned.
  • Foster a collaborative learning environment that supports student growth and professional development.


Program Development and Professional Engagement:

  • Help shape professional education offerings in response to emerging workforce needs and opportunities.
  • Partner with faculty, Institute leadership, and industry stakeholders to strengthen curriculum and experiential learning.
  • Contribute to program assessment, accreditation, recruitment, outreach, and executive education activities.
  • Build relationships with industry partners that expand learning and professional opportunities for students.


Service and Scholarly Engagement:

  • Contribute to Institute and university committees, admissions, curriculum planning, and faculty governance.
  • Maintain current expertise through professional development in analytics education, instructional technology, and industry trends.
  • Pursue scholarly and professional activities aligned with your expertise and rank, including applied research, presentations, publications, consulting, or industry collaboration.

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience
Assistant Teaching Professor

  • Doctoral degree, equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience in analytics, data science, statistics, computer science, information systems, operations research, business analytics, artificial intelligence, or a closely related discipline.
  • Expertise in one or more areas of analytics or data science.
  • Teaching, training, or curriculum development experience with graduate-level courses.
  • Ability to communicate complex analytics concepts effectively with students, faculty, and industry partners.



Associate Teaching Professor: In addition to the qualifications for Assistant Teaching Professor:

  • Established record of teaching experience in higher education, executive education, or professional training.
  • Record of developing curriculum or educational programs.
  • Leadership in professional practice, industry, or applied analytics.
  • Demonstrated contributions to academic service or program leadership.



Teaching Professor:
In addition to the qualifications for Associate Teaching Professor:

  • National or international recognition as a leader in analytics or a related field.
  • Distinguished record of curriculum innovation, educational programs, or industry initiatives.
  • Sustained impact through teaching, professional engagement, and service.
  • Proven leadership that advances analytics in higher education, industry, or both.

  • Background in designing and teaching fully online or hybrid courses.
  • Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle or Canvas.
  • Industry expertise applying analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data science to business challenges.

  • Record of developing partnerships with industry or external organizations.
