Pay Rate: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour

Schedule:



  • 1st Shift: Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM

Wabtec is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to support manufacturing operations by developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for production equipment. This role requires expertise in CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, blueprint interpretation, and machining processes. The ideal candidate will collaborate with operators, engineers, and production teams to ensure quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Job Duties



  • Program CNC machines using 3D models, engineering drawings, and CAM software.
  • Develop efficient multi-operation machining programs.
  • Calculate machining speeds, feeds, tooling requirements, and material considerations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
  • Assist with tooling selection, process planning, and procurement activities.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and dimensional requirements are met.
  • Support production schedules and manufacturing goals.
  • Collaborate with machine operators to improve process consistency and quality.
  • Operate CNC equipment as needed to support production demands.
  • Assist with machine maintenance and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate production, labor, and material usage records.
  • Support safety, quality, delivery, cost, and teamwork objectives.
  • Participate in training, meetings, and other assigned duties.


Qualifications



  • 1-3 years of CNC programming experience or 5+ years of machining experience.
  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school certification.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software preferred.
  • Working knowledge of G-code and M-code programming.
  • CNC milling programming experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules and additional hours as needed.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or multi-axis equipment is preferred.
  • Experience editing CNC programs, setting tooling offsets, and performing machine setups is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM software, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, continuous learning, and commitment to precision manufacturing are well positioned for success as a CNC Programmer.



Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
